Virtual reality therapy – Diego® helps patients and therapists with the often difficult training for regaining lost arm function in the neurological field. Diego, the world’s first robotic device to use Intelligent Gravity Compensation (IGC), allows passive, assistive or active therapy of the upper limb. IGC removes the weight of the client’s arm allowing movements to occur which might have been too difficult with the force of gravity. Arm straps serve to fix the patient uni or bilaterally to the unit quite easily. As a result, motions can be performed in the three-dimensional scope of movement. Therapy with Diego® ensures a varied, motivating and target aimed rehabilitation process. Active weight relief makes this possible even for patients in an early state of rehabilitation. Active weight relief enables motion sequences that are as natural as possible even with patients who have only little arm function. Furthermore Diego® scores with its bi-manual function which enables patients to use both arms, this comes very close to the everyday movements performed by a person.

Amadeo

Amadeo is a mechanical rehabilitation device which allows passive, assistive or active therapy of the fingers. Fingers and thumb can be moved simultaneously or independently of each other throughout the therapy. Amadeo helps to improve motor and sensory functions of clients with limited scope of movement of individual fingers or the entire hand. Amadeo also improves motor skills as well as the power of fingers and/or hand and reduces spasticity. The Amadeo imitates the natural grasping movement and imprints it on the client’s hand. The brain, stimulated by the movements of hand and fingers, starts to reorganise and/or rearrange motor functions, stimulated by the movements of hands and fingers. After the finger pads have been fixed on the finger tips and thumbs, automated movement sequences are performed. Depending on the degree of neurological damage, the patient can be treated either merely passively or actively. 1. CPM Therapy – the passive hand is stimulated 2. Assistive Therapy – active training at the individual limit of performance 3. Interactive Therapy – active training in a virtual environment based on the goal-oriented performing of different tasks

Pablo

The Pablo focuses on movement from the shoulder through to the wrist. It can also be used to increase force and strength in the fingers and hand. The Pablo was designed to help clients with motor deficits of hands or arms to get moving. The Pablo is made up of 3 different devices.

Measures force for all types of grips and the range of movement of an arm.

Pablo Ball

Trains pronation and supination of the forearm as well as extension and flexion of the wrist.

Pablo Board

Used for repetitive training of individual or several joints. Bilateral arm movement can be used to assist with performing the desired movement.

Tymo

Tymo focuses on postural control, balance and strength by using a therapy plate for all activities. The therapy plate can be used in a number of positions depending on client function.

  • Force and supporting the upper extremities
  • Supporting oneself, sitting and standing
  • Training of the motor and sensory performance of the client

A rolling element can be placed underneath Tymo® and be used to analyze and train the ability of patients to preserve their equilibrium and/or to keep their balance.

TYMO® SUPPORTING-FUNCTION: Tymo® is also suited for therapy of the upper extremities. The patient practices, for example:

  • supporting activities, also with severely paralysed upper extremities
  • active exertion of force of the upper extremities

TYMO® SITTING-FUNCTION: Either the patient directly sits down on Tymo®, or puts his/her feet on Tymo® and practices:

  • functional free sitting
  • symmetrical weight distribution
  • activities of torso and pelvis
  • weight transfer to the legs

TYMO® STANDING-FUNCTION: The patient practices while standing upright, for example:

  • the standing leg phase
  • the improvement of active knee control
  • weight shifting
  • build-up of muscular strength & coordination of the lower extremities and postural muscles

Vacusport

Developed initially for use in Outer space, the Vacusport is a device for carrying out intermittent negative pressure therapy on the lower body. It is a rehabilitation and sports recovery device to optimise and to accelerate regeneration and rehabilitation in athletes. It is aimed at improving circulation of the lower body, vascular training and targeted removal of venous and waste products which is carried by the lymphatic system.

How it works

The physical principle of the VACUMED® – therapy is the intermittent impinging of the body with negative pressure (Vacuum).

  • Capillary dilatation
  • Capillarisation
  • Improvement of the perfusion in the periphery and muscular system (micro perfusion)

In comparison to negative pressure phases, the normal pressure phases (atmospheric pressure) lead to:

  • Increase of venous reflux
  • Activation of lymphatic flow / lymphatic drainage
  • Increased removal of waste products like Lactate and Creatine-Kinease
